Board Goals and Benchmarks

1. Increase student learning and achievement:

  • Benchmarks:  Using an adopted formative assessment,  testing 3 times a year, 80 % of  the students will increase overall scores by 5% in each testing window

2. Increase choices of learning opportunities for students:

  • Benchmarks:  Counseling and Administration will offer at least 4 campus visits to local Community Colleges, Universities and trade schools

  • Siletz High school will increase dual credit opportunities to at least 2 course offerings 

  • Benchmark:  Enroll 15% of all high school students in college/post-high school preparatory courses

3. Better meet individual student academic needs and interests:

  • Benchmark:  Offer student survey twice per year with open ended questions to express their academic interests

  • Benchmark:  Create an academic interest plan to meet the needs of our students based on the survey.

4. Build stronger working relationships among educators, parents and other community members:

  • Benchmark:  Utilize at least 5 avenues to increase parents and community communication: ie. weekly newsletters, social media, one call, text, printed signs,  etc.

  • Benchmark:  Hold at least 1 in person activity per quarter  to increase parents and community engagement: ie. parent nights, open houses, programs, etc.

5. Encourage the use of different and innovative learning methods:

  • Benchmark:  School will increase opportunities for more diversified learning methods by utilizing school and community resources providing at least 1 or 2 more enrichment courses per year K-12

6. Create new professional development opportunities for teachers:

  • Benchmark: School will offer at least 2 monthly opportunities for both classified and certified staff to increase best practices based on individual staff evaluation goals.

7. Establish additional forms of accountability for school and create innovative measurement tools:

  • Benchmark:  Monthly Board reports to include Financial, attendance, behavior and academic and testing reports.

  • Benchmark:  Monthly/Quarterly reports to board of Student/Family/Staff surveys that are sent throughout the year.
